JOB TITLE:                    Medical Director  (full/part time, with schedule flexibility)

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc., a recognized leader in substance use, mental health, rape crisis, prevention and criminal justice services in southeastern North Carolina, has an opportunity for a Medical Director to become part of our expanding organization. Coastal Horizons Center, Inc., is a non-profit service organization, a CABHA approved, and CARF certified service provider with the state of North Carolina.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Medical Director provides medical direction and supervision in directing the activities and medical treatment plans of outpatient substance use and mental health disorder treatment programs, which may include direct patient care, counseling, opioid treatment, psychiatric/psychological, integrated primary care, and other therapeutic services at Coastal Horizons. The Medical Director provides direct services and oversight to the Opioid Treatment Program and to the Office-based Buprenorphine services at Coastal Horizons, and provides supervision to supporting Advance Practice Practitioners. The Medical Director works closely with Agency leadership on program development, modification, expansion, and quality improvement initiatives within the Agency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from Medical School, and completion of required internships/residency program requirements.
  • Board Certification preferred, Board Certification eligibility required.
  • Thorough knowledge of substance abuse, addiction, mental health and co-occurring disorders.
    OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
